The meaning of ice

Kōri — the Japanese word for ice — embodies our philosophy: purity, clarity, and the refreshing ritual of matcha.

We partner directly with family-owned farms in Uji, Japan — the birthplace of Japanese matcha cultivation since 1191. Our farmers use traditional shading techniques, covering tea plants for 25+ days before harvest to enhance chlorophyll and L-theanine content.

Each batch is stone-ground at low temperatures to preserve the delicate flavor compounds and vibrant green color that define exceptional matcha.

The Ritual

The art of matcha preparation is a meditative practice. Take a moment. Breathe. Create something beautiful.

Sift

Sift 1-2 teaspoons of matcha through a fine mesh strainer into your bowl to break up any clumps and ensure a smooth texture.

Add Water

Pour 2oz of water heated to 175°F (80°C). Using water that's too hot will result in a bitter taste.

Whisk

Using a bamboo chasen, whisk vigorously in a W or M motion until a layer of fine foam forms on the surface.

Enjoy

Drink directly from the bowl, or add to your favorite milk for a creamy matcha latte. Enjoy immediately while the foam is fresh.
